				Why watch this?
Noted early sci-fi director Jack Arnold scores big with this
				eerie alien-encounter flick.
				Plot Summary:
Amateur astronomer John Putnam and girlfriend Ellen Fields
witness a meteor crash in the Arizona desert. Of course, they
have to investigate. John's exploration finds a strange craft,
but a rockslide buries it, hiding any evidence. When he recants
his story, he's scoffed at by local police. As several town
folks mysteriously disappear, his story gains more credibility.
The police are determined to hunt and kill the invaders, yet
Putnam is not convinced they mean Earth harm. Dad's Preview:
				Before watching
this sci-fi classic, pop a bag of corn, pour a nice drink and
turn off the lights. This film's atmosphere literally oozes,
thanks to a monstrously creepy soundtrack and shape-shifting,
bug-eyed visitors from space's deepest realms. Director Jack
Arnold gave us several (low budget) sci-fi classics including
				The
Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954) and
				The Incredible
				Shrinking Man (1957).
