Plot Summary:
After being exposed to a strange cloud of radioactive mist,
ordinary family man Scott Carey slowly begins to lose his
physical size day by day. As his height diminishes from feet to
inches, his once-comfortable suburban home transforms into a
perilous wilderness filled with terrifying household hazards and
a hungry pet cat. Ultimately reduced to microscopic proportions,
Scott faces his vanishing existence with philosophical courage.

Dad's Preview:
The film's concept is thought-provoking to say the least. The
protagonist starts shrinking. First, his wedding
band falls off. Next, he's shorter than his wife. He eventually
becomes so small, people can no longer see him. The genius in this
story is that it doesn't have the patented, happy ending we'd expect.
It also makes a larger statement about the significance of man, and
mankind, on this planet. |
