Film noir is a cinematic
style, particularly associated with American crime dramas of
the 1940s and 50s, characterized by its cynical, fatalistic
tone, and distinctive visual look. More recent films are
often called Neo-noir. These films often features morally
ambiguous characters, femme fatales, and shadowy, low-key
lighting.
