"My temperature runs a
couple of degrees high, around a hundred. I don't mind. It's the
engine or something." - Matty
Why watch this? This
dark noir homage will fog your glasses for sure.
Plot Summary: Set in a sweltering Florida resort town, this steamy film
matches the climate with tons of intrigue, sex, crosses and
double-crosses. A seedy lawyer, Ned, purposefully stumbles
across a beautiful woman, Matty. Their back and forth courtship
is right out of a 1950's detective movie. You'd be plastered, if
you took a chilled vodka shot every time Kathleen Turner denies
William Hurt's advances. When they finally begin their torrid,
quasi-abusive affair, Ned devises a plan to murder her
always-out-of-town husband for the inheritance.
Dad's Preview:
This seedy film
creates a squalid mood, all set in dark places to the groan of a
saxophone - this is film neo-noir at its finest. For something
sleazy, sexy and criminal, check out this effort, which launched the careers of
both Turner and Hurt.
