"I come with you, I'm
coming for blood. No law, no code of conduct. You point me in
the right direction, you get the hell out of my way." –
Logan
Why watch this? As
violent, painful and glorious as The Wolverine's origin should
be.
Plot Summary: This
story starts in Logan's youth, where he and his brother, Victor,
are ostracized by family and townsfolk due to their mutations.
Their near-immortality aids their survival through the U.S. war
years. They then join a band of mercenaries for hire. Though
Victor becomes more ruthless, Logan has had enough and quits the
group. But, of course, they find him...
Dad's Preview:
Logan, aka Wolverine, is the star of the X-Men, both in comics
and film (you know it's true). The burly, murderous nomad with a
heart of gold (and healing powers AND retractable bone
arm-spikes) wanders the world just trying to get by. This was Jackman's first solo
effort as Wolvie, and man, he is jacked up for the myriad of
action sequences. That said the film does a nice job developing
its characters. Heck, even the romance is critical to the film's
climax. The next film,
The Wolverine
(2013), is even better.
