Why watch this? I
personally enjoyed this third X-Men effort as much as the first
two.
Plot Summary: A
"cure" for the mutant gene is discovered, prompting a division
within the mutant community. This development forces mutants to
choose between retaining their abilities or potentially becoming
human, leading to increased tensions between humans and mutants.
Professor Charles Xavier's X-Men and Magneto's Brotherhood find
themselves on opposing sides, with the fate of both mutants and
humanity hanging in the balance.
Dad's Preview:
The final film of the original X-Men trilogy focuses on the
battle between Magneto's mutant army and humans, who are being
secretly helped by the X-Men. Early on, Magneto wins the support
of the powerful of Jean Grey, who has been resurrected as Dark Phoenix. At the time
it was made,
this was the last film, and that might explain
why some characters were killed off. The plot, and its many
twists, is well-written and memorable. I was personally a pleasure to see Kelsey Grammer as one of my favorite X-Men, Beast... he's
perfect for the part.
