"They put it out here
in the middle of nowhere because they're not stupid enough to
make weapons of mass destruction on their own doorstep. That's
what all that shit is in those vases. They made it here. It got
out, turned on them. The end. It's time for us to go home." -

Why watch this? Once
the Alien sequels ran their course, Ridley Scott returned
to the story's origins.
Plot Summary:
A team of scientists follows a star map discovered across
ancient Earth civilizations to a distant planet, hoping to
uncover the origins of humanity. Upon arrival, they explore the
ruins of an advanced extraterrestrial species known as the
"Engineers" and encounter mysterious technology that holds the
secrets to creation. However, their quest for answers quickly
turns into a terrifying battle for survival as they realize the
cosmic forces they have awakened.

Dad's Preview:
This heady sci-fi adventure horror film serves as a
prequel to the Alien saga, this time exploring
the subjects of humanity's creation, as well as the
beings responsible for the initial engineering of the
lethal xenomorphs that caused so much damage in the
original four films. I will admit it took me two
viewings to catch on to the director's vision, but now I
appreciate it. The cast, namely Noomi Rapace and Michael
Fassbender, are excellent, as are the special effects.
As we are shown answers to our previous Alien
questions, we are only given more things to ponder.
Regardless, this is a film that intrigues, scares and
will generally creep you out. And that is a good thing. |
