Why watch this?
There's a zen-like peacefulness to a film set after a great
flood.
Plot Summary: In a
world suddenly devastated by a massive flood that has left no
humans behind, a solitary dark gray cat is forced to abandon its
home to survive. The feline finds refuge on a boat along with
several other animals — a capybara, lemur, dog, and bird — who
must learn to overcome their natural instincts to work together.

Dad's Preview:
We action film junkies will struggle a tad as this animated film
starts up. It's a slow-burn and it requires the viewer to become
the animals within the film. The setting appears to be a world
after a great cataclysm. Man is absent, so it's quite peaceful.
We're not bogged down by dialogue. Still, adventure occurs - a
wall of raging water, a fall overboard, the talons of a massive
bird. Our curious cat is joined by various others who share the
quest to survive. The computer-generated animation is truly a
beauty to behold. The whole film is mesmerizing, and I want to
see more from these creative filmmakers. |
