"Then let's head on down into that cellar and carve ourselves a witch." – Ash

Why watch this? Outrageous. Terrifying. Bloody. Hilarious.

Plot Summary: Lone survivor Ash Williams returns to a remote cabin in the woods, where he unwittingly unleashes flesh-possessing demons after playing a recorded incantation from an ancient book. As the demonic forces terrorize him and a new group of arrivals, Ash is forced into a frantic, chaotic battle for survival that pushes him to the brink of insanity. Armed with a chainsaw and a shotgun, he must fight through the night to survive the demonic onslaught and escape the cabin's terrifying grasp.

Dad's Preview: This sequel to Evil Dead (1981) serves up a more sophisticated plate over-brimming with the spoils of a better budget and the genius of director Sam Raimi. Yet, it somehow manages to retain the wonderful campiness of a low-budget horror film. Amid buckets of bloody F/X, thrives the spastic Bruce Campbell, who carries the film. He lobs snarky one-liners as well as he does a red splattered axe. You will shriek, cover your eyes, then laugh out loud throughout. As Ash succinctly puts it... "Groovy." This also paved the way for the excellent third film, Army of Darkness (1992).
