Plot Summary: This
erotic thriller follows Joanna Crane, a successful fashion
designer who leads a secretive double life as a high-end
prostitute named China Blue. Her worlds begin to collide when
Bobby Grady, a sexually frustrated married man is hired by her
employer to investigate her for corporate espionage, instead
uncovers her nocturnal activities and becomes deeply infatuated.
She also becomes the target of Rev. Shayne, an unhinged street
preacher who is obsessively determined to forcefully "save" her
soul by any means necessary.

Dad's Preview:
Kathleen Turner's initial splashes were film where she
was not shy about using her sex appeal within the
characters she played (for example
Body
Heat, 1981). Here she goes all-out as a woman
leading two lives: the respectable fashion designer and
the high-dollar call girl. However, living like that
will eventually collapse on itself. The performances
here by Turner and the always intense Anthony Perkins
are noteworthy. The film jumps from eroticism to a
quasi-slasher film towards its conclusion. If bad
language, sexuality and nudity offends, you might want
to skip this racy thriller. |
