AI... some much to offer, so much to worry about.
Plot Summary:
A young couple, Iris and Josh, travel to a remote lake house for
a weekend getaway with friends. The trip descends into chaos and

fight for her autonomy and survival against her manipulative
human companions.

Dad's Preview:
One faithful gauge for a good film is when I am on my comfy
couch, about to fall asleep, and the movie keeps me awake. This
very stylish offering balances comedy and technology horror on a
fine blade indeed. It's also a pretty good murder mystery. The
young cast is excellent, led by the corruptible Quaid, and
always engaging Thatcher (I'm really becoming a fan). This
depicts how I picture a future where techno-products reign
supreme, anything goes in the name of money-making, and even
common folks have an in-depth grasp on their function-rich
devices. This film also preys on our deepest fear: that an AI
being can be constructed that mimics a human on every level. I'm
no scientist or theologian, but something tells me (and many
sci-fi writers) that this concept will be the death of us all. |
