Why watch this?
This film pays superb homage to the original TV series. Well
done!
Plot Summary:
The eccentric Addams family, known for their macabre tastes,
welcomes back a man claiming to be their long-lost Uncle Fester,
who has been missing for 25 years. However, this individual is
part of a scheme to swindle the family out of their fortune. The
Addams must decide the true identity of the Fester imposter.
Dad's Preview:
Based on the
1960's TV show, this romp is creepy fun from start to finish. You can
tell that the actors are having a blast. Deserving of technical
praise is "Thing" - everyone's favorite severed hand. The CGI
magicians successfully gave Thing a delightful personality, and
he (it?) gets some of the film's biggest laughs. I must also
recognize the performance of the late Raul Julia. He more than channels John Astin's
Gomez, as literally becomes him! Rest in peace, Raul. You left us too soon.
