It is also stated that William was born in Miss. It is my assumption that these two Windham men in Gila County, Arizona, are brothers.

Rosa Lee WINDHAM (b. 31 Jan 1887, BrowCtyTX; d. 17 Aug 1910, BrowCtyTX, age 23)     Notes: There is a "James Windham" (b. 25 Mar 1861, CallCtyTX; d. 15 Dec 1943, GilaCtyAZ), however, on the Arizona Death Cert., the informant was not able to list his parents. Luther Windham was shot by his father-in-law in September of 1923. This newspaper article recounts the event. It appears that he survived. In 1930 he was in prison at the San Diego County Jail.

Jim Windham served in the Civil War in the Sibley Brigade (aka Army of New Mexico). He was in the 4th Regiment - Texas Mounted Rifles muster with along with Sam R. Windham.
