Notes: |
-
There is some debate on
whether or not Lindsey Durham had a first name. Research has shown both
"Thomas" as a first name and "William" as a first name. His gravemarker
says simply "Lindsey", so that is what I will go with.
-
In 1846, William L. emigrated with his father-in-law, John Holmes, to
Carroll County, MS. He had owned a small farm near Durhamville, TN, and
sold it to his brother-in-law, Robert Shelton, before moving to MS. He
spent the remainder of his days near Winona,
MontCtyMS.
-
William L. Durham and Mary
A. Phillips had a son, Lindsey Fonier Durham (b. Feb 16, 1893, d.
Oct 19, 1919; m. Mattie Bertha COLLINS). Another son was Edgar
Sinclair Durham (b. Oct 9, 1882, MS; d. May 8, 1947,
CrosCtyAR;
m. Carrie Aileen JONES, both are buried at Akins Cemetery,
CrosCtyAR).
