"So what... a million
dollars. Willie - your fancy clothes and jazzy sports car, huh?
Cap'n - a big yacht to sail all over the world. Ralph - a string
of race horses and every one running in the Kentucky Derby.
Dugan, DUGAN - you wouldn't have to work anymore, or steal,
right? Luther, why you can pawn the Pawn Shop. You'll be a
millionaire... a big shot, a tycoon. A million dollars and your
worries are over." - Harry Lucas
Why watch this?
It's a very good little heist comedy.
Plot Summary: This
crime comedy is about a U.S. Mint employee who accidentally
destroys $50,000 worth of new bills. To avoid trouble, he
decides to replace the money by breaking back into the Mint to
print more. However, his plan quickly escalates, forcing him to
assemble a motley crew of individuals, each with their own
greedy motivations, to pull off the illicit operation.
Dad's Preview:
In the zany tradition of
It's a Mad,
Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963), this comedy acquires some
B-list comedians to bumble their way, this time, through a heist
of the U.S. Mint. I personally love this movie, and I stand by
my recommendation. It is very funny as their plan slowly goes
south, one calamity after another. I always enjoy the sad faced
Milton Berle, and it's nice to see Bob Denver (aka TV's
Gilligan) in a major motion picture. This film is good for a few
laughs.
