Plot Summary:
This horror anthology consists of three separate, macabre
stories based on the classic stories by Nathaniel Hawthorne. The
individual plots explore the tragic consequences of an elderly
doctor discovering a fluid that restores youth, a protective
father who alters his daughter's biology to make her touch
deadly to outsiders, and a greedy brother who returns to his
ancestral home to find a hidden vault while defying a lethal
family curse. Across each segment, the characters must confront
the terrifying and supernatural prices of their obsession,
vanity, and avarice.

Dad's Preview:
It's true that this film has a definite B-movie feel to
it. The props and effects are literally one click above
those created in a college film class. Yet, there are
two things helping this film's efforts. First, these
macabre, gothic short-stories hail from famous American
author Nathanial Hawthorne, who penned
The Scarlet Letter in 1850. Second, all three
segments feature Vincent Price. The tall, deep-voiced
horror star lends an eerie gravitas to each role he
inhabits, be he the betraying best friend, or the
controlling father. You can be certain that he's going
to murder someone in a grisly manner. Here he
encounters, and courts, evil through is own sins and
greed. And the demons of justice see that he pays for
it.
