"They're a young
species. They (humans) have much to learn. But I've seen
goodness in them. Freedom is the right of all sentient beings.
You all know there's only one way to end this war: we must
destroy the Cube." -

Why watch this?
This good action flick verifies just how cool the CGI-generated
Transformers can be.
Plot Summary: An
ancient alien war between two factions of transforming robots
spills over onto Earth as both sides search for a powerful,
life-giving cube. A regular teenager inadvertently gets caught
in the crossfire when he buys his first car, only to discover it
is a heroic alien scout. Together with the military, he must
protect the artifact from an evil faction that intends to
conquer the Earth.

Dad's Preview:
The Transformers toy line provided endless entertainment
for my children's generation. Trucks and cars could be
magically transformed into intelligent beings
from outside our universe. Anyway you slice it, that
concept rocks. For this film, Paramount enlisted a known
action director and employed some really good CGI
designers. They then threw in two young, attractive
stars in Shia LeBeouf and Megan Fox. The result is an
amazing, visual movie that wows the eyes, and doesn't
require a person to care much about the plot lines. It's
a ton of fun and would go on to spawn several (some say,
too many) sequels. |
