Why watch this?
There are some good moments in this sub-par third installment.
Plot Summary:
A power-hungry computer company CEO hires a down-on-his-luck
computer nerd to create a synthetic form of kryptonite to kill
Superman. The product, however, is not pure and it splits
Superman into two beings: Clark Kent and Evil Superman. Folks
are astonished as the Man of Steel starts doing some really bad
things like drinking and straightening the Leaning Tower of
Pisa. Meanwhile, the bad guys design a super-computer that will
destroy Superman for good.

Dad's Preview:
Much of this film is a swing and a
miss. I sure could bust on raunchy comedian Richard Pryor as comic relief,
but I just love the guy too much. This third entry tries to be too slapsticky
humor-wise. However, there are some great moments, namely Clark's
return to Smallville, and the battle between Clark and his evil
twin in the junkyard. It is symbolic that Superman really is two
personas, one real (Kal-el) and one (Clark Kent) a
facade. |
