Why watch this? It's
a fast-moving, hard-hitting London crime drama.
Plot Summary:
This crime story weaves together two main plots within the
London criminal underworld: one following the chaotic search for
a stolen, massive diamond, and the other focusing on a
small-time boxing promoter navigating the dangers of illegal
bare-knuckle boxing. A diverse cast of eccentric characters,
including unscrupulous jewel thieves, dangerous gangsters, and a
nearly incomprehensible gypsy boxer, all become entangled in a
web of double-crosses and unexpected twists.
Dad's Preview:
I knew Guy Ritchie as one of Madonna's many husbands. Who knew
the guy could direct? Well, he can. This quick, tense, funny,
English gangster film hops around more than a Mexican jumping
bean, but man, is it a great ride. I am still mad at the Oscars
for not recognizing the phenomenal job Brad Pitt for his role as the
tough-ass gypsy boxer, Mickey O'Neil.
