Why watch this? This
funny, nice-looking family movie is not too baaaaad.
Plot Summary:
A kindly shepherd, who routinely reads murder mystery novels to
his flock, is suddenly found dead. Driven by the stories they
absorbed, the surprisingly clever sheep take it upon themselves
to investigate the crime. They team up with the town's bumbling
local officer to uncover a massive fortune-based motive and
catch the true killer.

Dad's Preview: In the first
few minutes, this delightful film reminded me of 1995's
Babe,
and that's a good thing. I am a huge fan of children's
films that are elevated to include adults in the target
market (we were all kids once, supposedly). This family
murder-mystery has a little bit of everything: a dubious
crime, English-comprehending sheep, poignant
life-lessons and belly laughs galore. An All-Star cast
was assembled and hearing them voice various breeds of
sheep is hilarious. So, turn off that dumb reality show,
and settle into this lovely, wooly, and very cozy
whodunit. |
