Why watch this?
Tim Allen is so easy to watch and enjoy. He's perfect
as Jolly St. Nick.
Plot Summary:
After inadvertently startling the current Santa Claus into
falling off a roof on Christmas Eve, a divorced toy company
executive and his son are transported to the North Pole to
complete his deliveries. There, the executive, Scott Calvin,
learns that by donning the suit, he has unknowingly agreed to
become the new Santa, thanks to the "Santa Clause". He initially
struggles to accept his transformation and convince his family,
particularly his ex-wife and her new husband, that he truly is
the new Father Christmas.
Dad's Preview:
First let me say, relax, kids, Santa Claus is just fine. Scott
Calvin
has just taken the his place. The holiday-infused film results in
Scott's bonding with his estranged son, meeting lots of elves, and
even cutting some slack for his ex-wife's nerdy new
husband. Tim Allen continues to resonate with me on so many
levels.
