"You still went to bed with
him awfully fast! A few frilly words and you're counting ceiling
				tiles." - C.D. Bales
				Why watch this? It
is one of Martin's better romantic films - his nose, and performance,
				are incredible.
				Plot Summary:
The witty and charming fire chief C.D. Bales is deeply in love
with the beautiful astronomer Roxanne. He's self-conscious about
his large nose and fears rejection, so he instead helps his
handsome but inarticulate subordinate, Chris, woo Roxanne by
ghostwriting eloquent love letters for him. Roxanne falls for
the personality expressed in the letters, unaware of the true
				author. Dad's Preview:
This is a modern telling of Edmond Rostand's classic play
"Cyrano de Bergerac". Steve Martin portrays C. D. Bales, a man
with an unusual facial feature. Most men lack confidence. Not
him. He makes the most of life, as he runs a
volunteer fire department. Then he meets Roxanne. She is cool,
				funny and beautiful. He falls
hopelessly in love. This is one of Martin's initial attempts to
break into mainstream comedy, and it really works.
