				"You realise what you're
implying? That we owe our human condition here to the
				intervention of insects?"–
				The Minister of Defense
				Why watch this? This
is one of the best British sci-fi films from the 1960's.
				Plot Summary:
London Underground workers at Hobbs End discover an ancient
skull and a large, cylindrical object initially believed to be
an unexploded WWII bomb. However, Professor Bernard Quatermass,
a rocket scientist, suspects the object is of extraterrestrial
origin after further investigation reveals it to be a five
million-year-old metallic vessel with alien bodies inside. As
the investigation continues, it becomes evident that the
unearthed object exerts a powerful and disturbing influence. Dad's Preview:
This thought-provoking film centers on the discovery of a mysterious space craft in a London
subway dig. Within the craft, scientists discover three
insect-like beings. One scientist, Bernard Quatermass, learns
that these long-buried creatures still possess telekinetic energy - capable of
moving objects and affecting human brains. The special effects
were ahead of their time, and still today, amaze me. The chaotic
ending will stick with you, as it did for a young ten-year-old
boy on the plains of Texas.
