Why watch this? This
is
one warmly cool Sci-Fi space adventure film.
Plot Summary:
A science teacher wakes up alone on a spaceship deep in space
with total amnesia. As his memories slowly return through
flashbacks, he remembers he is on a desperate mission to find
out why the sun is dying, and save Earth from extinction. Along
the way, he makes first contact with an intelligent alien and
the two form an unlikely alliance to solve the cosmic crisis.

Dad's Preview:
Like this mission into space, we are witnessing the meteoric rise
of Ryan Gosling's career. He is officially a household name, and
just announced he'll be joining the Marvel Universe. This
spectacular Sci-fi film is based on the 2021 novel by Andy Weir.
It has so much going for it. The hero is
deviously hijacked into the mission. He makes first contact. The
special effects are incredible, as is the film's mesmerizing
soundtrack by Daniel Pemberton. It's nice to see a big
blockbuster that embraces science. As the father of a chemist, I
feel it's a noble profession that can save us as a species. So buckle
up and take a chance on the Hail Mary.
