				"I couldn't, Travis. I
didn't have what I knew he needed. I didn't want to use him to
				fill up
				my emptiness." -
				Jane Henderson when asked
				why she left her son
				Why watch this? ...
it burns like the slow fire of reality centered on love & pain.
				Plot Summary:
Like Moses emerging from the wilderness, Travis Henderson
wanders out of the sparse West Texas desert. He has been gone
four years. Travis is eventually reunited with his brother who
has been raising Travis' seven-year-old son, Hunter. The boy's
mother, Jane, has likewise been missing. This film is a journey
for a man so traumatized and wracked with guilt that his only
option was to run from all he knew. Dad's Preview:
				The story has many
elements reminiscent of the Ford Western,
				The Searchers.
It's opening scene is in Monument Valley. Also, like the loner,
Ethan Edwards, Travis is searching, aware that he needs to face
things he left unresolved. He becomes determined to find his
wife. What can possibly occur if he finds her? Can either of
them find peace or forgiveness? What about his son? Can things
that were so horribly screwed up ever really be fixed? Harry
Dean Stanton, usually a character actor, finally gets his film, and it is amazing.
