				The Preacher
				Why watch this? ...
to see Mr. Eastwood ride into town and dish out a whoopin' to some nasty fellers who deserve it.
				Plot Summary:
A mysterious stranger known as "Preacher" arrives in a small
gold mining camp being terrorized by a greedy mining company and
its ruthless owner, Coy LaHood. Preacher, initially seeming to
be a man of God, demonstrates an unusual aptitude for fighting
and stands with the independent miners against the violent
oppression of LaHood's men. This escalating conflict between the
miners and LaHood's forces, supported by a corrupt marshal,
builds to a confrontation where Preacher must make a stand. Dad's Preview:
This was Eastwood's return to Westerns after
				The Outlaw Josey Wales
				(1976),
ten years earlier. In familiar fashion, he portrays a mysterious
"preacher" who descends upon a town, on a pale horse, lorded over by ruthless
thugs. His purpose, naturally, is to help those oppressed and
rid the world of a few bad guys in the process. It's pure Western
iconography. Eastwood's fans more than welcomed back their
				steely-eyed man-of-action.
