"I don't belong here,
I feel it. Don't you think I feel it? I can't do any of these
vile things, and I wouldn't want to. Oh, my life is like death.
My children are the spawn of hell, and you're the devil. Oh,
God..." - Joanna Stayton, aka Annie Proffitt
Why watch this? It's
a good comedy film with two very attractive actors doing their
thing.
Plot Summary:
Carpenter Dean Proffitt builds a closet on the yacht of spoiled
heiress Joanna Stayton, but she refuses to pay him. Joanna then
falls overboard, loses her memory, and her husband abandons her
at the hospital. Dean sees his chance for revenge and convinces
Joanna that she is his wife and the mother of his four unruly
boys.
Dad's Preview:
When this devious little romantic comedy opened, Kurt and Goldie
had been an item since 1983. This might explain the great
chemistry between the two here. Their interactions keep the film
interesting, and some of it is very funny. It's a fairly
standard plot, where a rich woman loses her memory and goes
literally from riches to rags. Now poor, she is manipulated to
do wifely chores and control four of the worst brats imaginable.
But hey, she was such a nasty rich bitch that we kind of enjoy
the idea of her comeuppance. That said, it is still a bit
twisted. Let's hope it all works out in the end.
