"All I want in
exchange for my services is the right to hunt one of the
tyrannosaurs. A male, a buck only. How and why are my business." -

Why watch this? It's
always great to enjoy Jeff Goldblum in peril, and his constant
wise-cracks.
Plot Summary:
Four years after the disaster at
Jurassic
Park (1993), a second island known as Isla Sorna, where
the dinosaurs were bred, has become a thriving ecosystem
inhabited by prehistoric creatures. Driven by a desire to
exploit the dinosaurs for a new theme park, John Hammond's
nephew leads an expedition to capture specimens from the island.
Meanwhile, Dr. Ian Malcolm and a research team, sent by Hammond,
journey to Isla Sorna with the goal of documenting the dinosaurs
in their natural environment and thwarting the exploitation
attempts.

Dad's Preview:
This film sequel takes Ian Malcolm back into danger where
two factions are at odds: One's purpose is to study the huge
beasts and preserve their habitat; the other has employed big
game hunters to trap and transport the animals to a new theme
park in San Diego (that sounds like a good idea). There are many dino-encounters, ridiculous
chase scenes and, for the most part, attempts at character
building. It does fail to live up to the original film, but it's
fun in an amusement-park kind of way. |
