"The study of nature,
Miss Clayton, has taught me that life is founded upon killing
and destruction. The sea swarms with living things that prey on
one another to survive." - Capt. Von Schoenvorts
Why watch this?
People vs. dinosaurs - always an interesting combination.
Plot Summary:
Based on the 1918 novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs and set during
World War I, survivors of a torpedoed ship take control of the
German U-boat that attacked them. They become lost and
eventually discover the uncharted island of Caprona, a
prehistoric land where dinosaurs and primitive humans still
exist. The opposing groups must form an uneasy alliance to
survive the dangers and find a way to escape this forgotten
world.
Dad's Preview:
This is a pretty good
entry in the man vs. dinosaurs category, though the special
effects are all practical, and some appear a bit hokey. Still,
TV Western fans will love dependable Doug McClure (he's the
poor man's Hugh O'Brian) as the lone American
captive, who sets about to save the day.
