Why watch this? You will love this thriller about the most
dangerous board game ever.
Plot Summary:
Jumanji is a magical board game that unleashes a world of
adventure and danger upon its players. When siblings Judy and
Peter Shepherd find and begin playing the game, they
inadvertently release a man who has been trapped within it for
decades. The only way to stop the chaos and send the jungle's
perils back into the game is to finish playing Jumanji.

Dad's Preview:
This adventure film was a good vehicle for Robin Williams as Alan, a
young boy who was imprisoned inside a magical board game for 26
years. It allows the often-frantic actor to run around and
scream a lot, as he reassimilates to the current
timeframe. There are
some genuinely scary moments (giant spiders, deadly mosquitoes,
stampeding African animals), yet it's softened by almost-cartoonish
CGI-effects, which, for that time, were commendable.
Look for a young Kirsten Dunst. |
