Plot Summary:
Mild-mannered bookkeeper Henry Limpet longs to serve his country

Navy in tracking and defeating enemy submarines.

Dad's Preview:
There are lots of laughs in this fish tale, however
there are poignant moments. Mr. Limpet
has to choose between his old life with his wife, Bessie, and his
new sea-bound life. Don Knotts' strength was playing the
likeable, ugly fellow who lacks confidence, and bumbles his way
through life. Mr. Limpet just wants to serve his country and
know true love. He was
early filmdom's equivalent to today's similar actors: Ben Stiller or Michael Cera. |
