"That's what's wrong with
the present day horror films. There's no realism. Not like the
old ones, the great ones. Frankenstein, Phantom of the Opera,
Dracula - the one with Bela Lugosi, of course, not this new
fellow." - veteran actor, Paul Henderson
Why watch this? This
is a fine macabre film about a house that loves to possess its
occupants.
Plot Summary:
This anthology horror movie featuring four distinct
tales tied together by the eponymous house. A Scotland Yard
investigator delves into the history of the house, looking into
the mysterious disappearances of its previous residents. The
stories involve a horror writer whose fictional killer comes to
life, two men obsessed with a wax figure, a young girl with a
sinister secret, and a horror actor who discovers a real vampire
cloak.
Dad's Preview: I do
enjoy a good haunted house film. Here four tales are interwoven
solely on one fact, as Scotland Yard detectives learn, the
occupants all lived at the same address. Each tale, though
completely unique, takes place in the haunted abode. Aside from four engrossing horror
snip-its, we get to witness Britain's finest actors in stories
of extreme terror. That's a good thing.
