"I realized that there was nothing within him, neither conscious nor reason that was... even remotely human. An hour ago I stood up and fired six shots into him and then he just got up and walked away. I am talking about the real possibility that he is still out there!" – Dr. Sam Loomis

Why watch this? It's the scariest film I have ever seen.

Plot Summary: Immediately following the events of Halloween (1979), Laurie Strode is taken to a local hospital while the seemingly unstoppable Michael Myers continues his relentless search for her. Dr. Loomis also remains on the hunt, desperately attempting to track down his escaped patient and end his murderous rampage. As the night continues, the connection between the killer and his target is slowly revealed amidst the escalating violence.

Dad's Preview: Unfortunately, this film was somewhat doomed by comparison its classic horror namesake. Though II gained a new director, the main cast members return, namely Curtis and Pleasence, who do deliver convincing performances. This slasher film does have some decent scary moments, especially during its tense ending, as all comes to a head at the oddly-deserted hospital. Perhaps there was pressure from the studio executives to complete with other Halloween-ripoff films of that time, thereby upping up the amount of bloody violence, which this film has aplenty. Regardless, if you want more Michael Myers, the invincible being in the Shatner mask, this is a good serving.
