				Plot Summary:
An Allied commando unit during World War II is tasked with
destroying two massive German guns on the Greek island of
Navarone. These powerful guns prevent the rescue of thousands of
British soldiers trapped on a nearby island, making their
demolition crucial to Allied operations in the Aegean Sea. The
mission involves infiltrating the heavily fortified island,
overcoming numerous obstacles and internal conflicts among the
diverse team members, and attempting to disable the formidable
weapons against overwhelming odds. Dad's Preview:
Gregory Peck delivers another solid performance as a stern-jawed
American soldier sent on a secret mission to blow up a massive German
gun battery that is killing a lot of Allied forces. He teams up
with a British explosives expert and a fiery Greek officer. Most
of the film is getting to the cliffs where the guns are
located, all while avoiding German sea and land patrols. There's lots of
excitement, intrigue, and an explosive play-off at the film's end.
Anthony Quinn, as the Greek Stavros, delivers a fine performance.
