Plot Summary: In a futuristic society obsessed with genetic perfection, a genetically inferior man assumes the identity of a superior DNA donor to achieve his lifelong dream of space travel. He meticulously navigates his high-stakes new life at an elite aerospace corporation while evading the escalating suspicions of his colleagues. Just as he prepares to embark on his historic mission, an unexpected murder investigation threatens to expose his true identity.

Dad's Preview: This dystopian science-fiction thriller centers on a future where eugenics determines the fate of children based on genetic selection. The minute you are born, testing basically predicts your probability of diseases and even how long you will live. Those with higher scores are considered "valids", and they get the professional jobs. The rest are relegated to menial tasks. The film sports a very intelligent, thought-provoking script with a suspenseful sub-plot. Its lead stars, Hawke, Thurman and Law, deliver excellent performances. It builds a futuristic vision that is not inconceivable. Genetic testing is real science, so much so, that the U.S. government passed the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act in 2008. Once again, science fiction becomes science. Yikes!
