"What a load of bunk!
My father ate it every day of his life and he lived to the ripe
old age of thirty-eight."–
Fred Flintstone when Barney
asks if red meat is bad for you
Why watch this? My
generation grew up on Fred, Barney and their Stone Age families.
Plot Summary:
A working-class quarry worker lands a major corporate promotion
thanks to a selfless test-swapping favor from his best friend.

Dad's Preview: As hard as it
must be to believe, this TV show, along with
The Jetsons, were the primetime cartoons long
before The Simpsons. We loved them - one set in
the future, the other in the primitive past. These
hilarious weekly shows were creative and played on
then's relevant culture. This film's all-star homage
was backed by Steven Spielberg and his Amblin
Entertainment. Anyone who liked the show will get the
humor on display here. The rest, probably won't get it.
Sure, it's corny (that's the point). It also is
perfectly cast with Goodman and Moranis as our two
loveable lugs. Rosie O'Donnell is also a delight as the
ever-giggling Betty Rubble. |
