Dad's Preview: When this
film was
released,
I must confess that I enjoyed this musical rags-to-riches story. Jennifer Beals
is captivating to watch, as she athletically
gyrates through several provocative dance
numbers. Her onstage routine, where the water rains down, is
iconic. Critics were unkind about the thin, recycled plot, which
is justified. Regardless, the film still won an
Oscar for Best Song, with "Flashdance... What a Feeling". |
