Plot Summary: Iowa
farmer Ray Kinsella is inspired by a voice he hears in his

financial hardship, he pursues this vision with the support of

past and present, all linked by their dreams and the game of
baseball.

Dad's Preview:
In the late '80's Costner was on fire - on the covers of
magazines, People's Sexiest man of the Year, etc. This
classic followed
Bull
Durham (1988), another
yarn centered on baseball. This film is more about the
legends of baseball... and a little baseball magic. An ordinary man feels called to follow a crazy
idea. For once in his life, he trusts it, even when things don't make sense.
That is where the unusual happens. This sentimental movie is beautifully shot and acted.
