Why watch this?
Matt Broderick was never better than in this rebellious teen
comedy.
Plot Summary:
Ferris Bueller, a popular high school senior, orchestrates a
grand scheme to fake illness and skip school for a day in
Chicago. He convinces his neurotic best friend, Cameron, and his
girlfriend, Sloane, to join him on this adventurous detour.
Throughout their day of escapades, the group must outwit their
determined dean of students, Mr. Rooney, who is hell-bent on
catching Ferris and exposing his truancy.
Dad's Preview:
God, I know everybody loves this film. I did not have the same
experience because my first reaction was, "Nobody's that damn
smart." It's like watching a movie about a guy, written and
directed by that same guy. Ferris can do no wrong, he gets
everything he wants, and escapes all consequences. I relate more with
his angry sister, Jeanie. Real life often hands you a pile of
crap and you just have to survive it, and minimize the damage...
maybe I need a therapist...
