Why watch this?
Statham shines in this film's creative, action-packed plot.
Plot Summary: A Los
Angeles hitman wakes up to discover he has been injected with a
synthetic poison that will kill him if his heart rate drops
below a certain level. To stay alive and hunt down the culprits,
he must keep his adrenaline pumping through constant, dangerous,
and often absurd stunts across the city. The film follows his
frantic, high-octane quest for revenge and an antidote, all
while keeping his pulse spiking to prevent the venom from
killing him.

Dad's Preview:
This thrilling, ticking-timer flick tries to keep the
audience's blood pressure at an elevated level, as we
follow our desperate protagonist on his quest to find
and kill those responsible for his situation... before
he succumbs. A lot of this film's plot points are
violent, over-the-top and patently ridiculous. That
said, it succeeds as an action thriller. A lot can be
credited to Statham's manic performance. He's on point
the entire movie. Basically the plot is secondary to the
non-stop action, but it's still a lot of fun. |
