Why watch this?
This dark, dystopian film is the opposite of a morality tale.
Plot Summary: In a
post-apocalyptic wasteland, a young man named Vic and his
telepathic dog, Blood, roam a desolate surface world seeking
survival. Blood's ability to sense danger and locate people
gives them an advantage in the harsh environment. Their journey
leads them to an encounter with a strange underground society,
where they face unexpected dangers.
Dad's Preview:
This often-enthralling low-budget film, based on a story by
science fiction writer Harlan Ellison, it like watching a car
crash in slow motion - you just can't take your eyes off it.
The film is a
bit cheesy, but it will make you think about our impending
future. The ending, oh man, will leave your jaw on the
floor. George Miller indicated that this film inspired Mad
Max, namely
Mad Max 2:
The Road Warrior (1981).
