Why watch this?
There's a lot to like in this thriller, namely Costner and
Houston.
Plot Summary: Rachel
Marron is a famous pop singer and actress who becomes the target
of an unknown stalker. Her manager hires Frank Farmer, a former
Secret Service agent known for his exceptional protective
skills, to act as her bodyguard. Initially, the two clash over
Frank's strict security protocols and Rachel's independent
spirit, but as the threats escalate, they begin to develop a
deeper connection amidst the rising danger.
Dad's Preview:
This film is fairly standard romantic thriller fare, elevated at
times by Whitney Houston's vocal and acting talents. She seems
comfortable on camera. Her chemistry with bodyguard Costner is
kept in check as part of the plot: two people who can't let
emotions interfere with their jobs. There is a plot twist, but I
saw it coming a mile off. That said it's a serviceable date
night flick.
