"You will never escape
my vengeance, or of Satan's! My revenge will seek you out, and
with the blood of your sons, and of their sons, and their sons,
I will continue to live forever! They will restore me to life
you now rob from me!" - Princess Asa Vajda
Why watch this? A
vampiric witch, a generational curse, and dead people rising
from the grave.
Plot Summary:
Princess Vajda, a convicted conjurer, is
brutally whipped and placed inside a spiked bronze mask, along
with her loyal servant, Javutich. Two centuries later their
crypt is disturbed, awakening the evil pair, which now allows
them to pursue their
revenge.
Dad's Preview:
This film has many classic elements common with gothic horror
films of its time. Made in Italy, this dreary tale of a witch's
curse on her murderous brother, and his heirs, will raise the
hairs on your neck. There are foggy moors, demonic rituals and reanimated
corpses galore. Stunning British actress, Barbara Steele, plays
the dual roles of the undead princess and her distant relative Katia
Vajda. This chiller capitalized on the '60's monster movie
craze started by
Hammer's Dracula, Mummy and Frankenstein
efforts. This is by far the best classic Italian horror film
ever made.
