Why watch this? You
can love 'em or hate 'em, but it's really hard to ignore Jerry
Jones and his Dallas Cowboys.
Plot Summary:
This documentary chronicles the ambitious journey of owner Jerry
Jones and his transformative takeover of the Dallas Cowboys in
the 1990s. The documentary details how Jones' high-stakes
decisions and dynamic relationship with coach Jimmy Johnson led
to the team's rise as a football dynasty, capturing multiple
Super Bowl titles. It also explores the internal strife and
external controversies that ultimately led to the end of that
dominant era.
Dad's Preview:
So much has already been written and said, so why is this
quasi-documentary even necessary? What I found so compelling is
that this history of Jerry and the 'Boys simply wrote itself. It
has all the good stuff (that fans remember) and all the bad
stuff (that haters love to bring up). This is a fairly accurate
recounting of the rise and fall of Football Rome, yea, that NFL
organization smack-dab in the heart of Texas. It's about men
with huge egos and the money, and desire, to make great things
happen. Then, those same egos destroying the very thing they
labored to create. It's about football players, some heroic,
some flawed beyond comprehension. It's about what could have
been, yet also about what WAS, and it was incredible. And
finally, it's about looking back - recanting the stories, guilt
about senseless mistakes, pride in the accomplishments, and a
legacy... one both tarnished and yet as brilliant as the golden
Lombardi trophy. This is truly a Texas Tale worth telling.
