				"I'll paint the truth
in spite of all the bigots... and hypocrites in Rome! Why do you
bring fools to judge my work?" –
				Michelangelo
				Why watch this? As
Michelangelo paints the Chapel ceiling, we literally feel his
				pain.
				Plot Summary:
Set against the backdrop of the Italian Renaissance, there is a
tumultuous relationship between famed artist Michelangelo and
his patron, Pope Julius II. Michelangelo is commissioned to
paint the Sistine Chapel ceiling, a task that forces him to
navigate his own artistic vision and the demanding nature of the
Pope. The film explores the intense artistic struggle and
personal conflict between the two men as the monumental project
				unfolds. Dad's Preview:
This film is a great accounting of the relationship between the
great artist Michelangelo, and the warrior Pope Julius II, who
commissioned the renown artist to paint the Sistine Chapel
ceiling. It's a joy to witness Heston (again portraying a
historical icon) and Harrison square off against each other.
Both men are stubborn, as their careers often dictate. It is an inspired story
about the famous Chapel's great masterpiece.
