"I am not what is called a civilized man", Professor. I have done with society for reasons that seem good to me. Therefore I do not obey its laws." - Captain Nemo

Why watch this? A rip-roaring sailor story with Captain Nemo, and a giant squid.

Plot Summary: A group of scientists investigates a mysterious "sea monster" that's been attacking ships. They discover that the "monster" is actually the Nautilus, a futuristic submarine piloted by the enigmatic Captain Nemo. After being captured, they journey across the seas with Nemo, experiencing the wonders and dangers of the underwater world.

Dad's Preview: Don't miss this wonderful Disney film made from the classic Jules Verne novel. It was such a joy to watch this on The Wonderful World of Disney on Sunday nights as a kid. James Mason plays the mysterious Captain Nemo and a young Kirk Douglas provides the meat of the acting. However, the giant squid is the real star. Its special effects were something to behold, and at that time, unequaled.
