Changed movie making and became and iconic franchise still going today Breakthrough in both how and what to do in a movie, ground-breaking action Perfect combo of horror/sci-fi, that tag "In space, no one can hear you scream"... brilliant. Still a franchise today. What would you do with immortality? Spawned several sequels and an awesome series.  Used to be my all-time fave. Now I see it as a great New Year's movie. A do-over theme. Gave us our first fears of AI, time travel and great catch phrases..."I'll be back"!

First big QT hit, showed his mastery of scene making, didn't have to have things in sequence to still be cohesive. True story of absolute heroism, teamwork, and what it is to have the "right stuff"! Pure Halloween hijinks, creepy music, and John Carpenter magic. Watch it every Halloween! Our initial into to Indiana Jones and archeological adventure. Based on a true person, sorta. What a hero was, is and should be without any "dark side". Christopher Reeves was the best. "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn" if you agree. Book is even better.

A sci-fi masterpiece with suspense and sex mixed into it. I'm a huge John Carpenter fan and this is my "go to" for action sci-fi. Joss Whedon's sci-fi Western was first a series to end with a full length movie, wish there were more like it. This has it all, horror, comedy, romance and a great soundtrack, no to mention award-winning special effects. Mel Brooks classic, really any of his classic comedies could go here. Great autobiography with rock & roll story.

Best of Chevy/Goldie rom-coms, just rewatched with BFF Jim recently. Realistic Vietnam action flick with great acting, soundtrack and memorable lines.
