The marriage certificate to Lula indicates her middle initial as "D". It also lists James' birth county as Carter County, KY. ⁵The 1900 Census indicates it was "A" (may have been for Anderson).

William W. Straley is buried in the Bruce family plot next to Oscar Bruce. Both William and Oscar died from Spinal Meningitis within two weeks of each other.

Hartley F. Dame was a Colonel in the US Army during the Korean War.

Waller's Death Certificate states his parents were William M. Straley and Virginia Jesse. He lived Brier Creek, WyomCtyWV. Goldie Straley was the informant. He was buried at Community Cemetery, Brier Creek, WyomCtyWV. - I have yet to find information on this cemetery.

Lula M. Straley was a school teacher. She is buried at the family cemetery in Briar Creek, WyomCtyWV.

David M. Straley's death certificate gives us his mother's maiden name. "Goldie Short".
Marciel (Nelson) Straley's parents were Harry E. Nelson/Janette B. Shipman.

Richard C. Spangler served in World War I as a Private in the US Army.

Rube Straley's death is the subject of some debate. In Find-A-Grave, there is an obituary that confirms that she died in 2007 after a long life. A Find-a-Grave user posted a Berkley West Virginia new paper article that says she died in 1942, a suicide that set herself on fire.
