BAIRD, Aug. 12 (RNS) — William Thomas Roberson, 64, died at 10:10 a.m. Tuesday
at his Baird residence at 104 Lombard St., after a long illness. His condition
had been critical for the last two weeks.Mr. Roberson was born in Comanche
County Dec. 25, 1888, and came to Oplin from Comanche in 1914, living there
until moving to Baird 11 years ago.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mae Roberson and one daughter, Martha, both
of Baird, one grandchild, Billy Tom Roberson of Baird; two sisters. Mrs. Lanie
C. Straley of Tyler, Mrs. Mary Gotcher of San Angelo; two brothers, Robert of
Baird and Carl of Abilene.
Funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Wylie Chapel and burial
will be in the Oplin Cemetery under direction of the Wylie Funeral Home.
Brother Riley Fugitt, pastor of the Baird Baptist Church, will officiate,
assisted by Merle King, minister of the Church of Christ.
Nephews will be pallbearers. The body will lie in state at the residence
until the services.
