Mrs. Atwood, Abilene, Dies
BAIRD, Jan. 24 (RNS) — Mrs. Anna Atwood, 75. longtime resident Oplin and resident of Abilene since 1946, died at noon Saturday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Ernest Gwin of Abilene.

She had been in ill health for six weeks.

Mrs. Atwood was born Sept. 10, 1877, in Newton, Miss. She lived in Oplin for 45 years before moving to Abilene in 1946.

Her husband, W. L, Atwood, died April 5, 1946.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Oplin Baptist Church, with the Rev. M. F. Richardson of Abilene, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Hollis Yielding, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church, Abilene. Wylie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Abilene, and was a member of the Baird Chapter of the Eastern Star.

The body will lie in state at a daughter's home, Mrs. Florence Roberson, 111O Beech St. Abilene, until time for the funeral.

Survivors beside the two daughers, include four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Elmer Baldridge of Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Fannie Morgan of Lamarque, Tex., and Mrs. Ruby Tines of Long Grove, Okla.; and one brother, William Fore of Cross Plains.

Pallbearers will be Lucian Warren, Pete Armour, Sidney Harville, Everett Sumner, R. E. Brookshire, and Clint McIntyre.
